You may know the parable of the lost son, often known as the story of the prodigal. In the story told by Jesus to teach His disciples the father opens his arms wide to welcome the returning son. In The Word on the Street, Rob Lacey describes the father as "throwing his arms around the son". Do you realise that God is waiting right now with His arms outstretched to lavish His love, grace and mercy upon you? He wants to throw His arms around you - can you imagine what that is like?
But that isn't all - God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to earth out of love for us even though man did not deserve such a sacrifice. Jesus suffered incredible agony on our behalf when He opened His arms wide on the cross to save you and to give us all an eternal hope. Still today 'our Master Jesus has His arms open wide for you' (1 Corinthians 16:23 The Message), will you accept the offer He makes?
